Privacy Policy

Livemarks is private search for your X bookmarks. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how to contact us.

Last updated: June 1, 2026

1. What Livemarks Does

Livemarks ("Livemarks," "we," "us," or "our") helps you import, index, and search bookmarks from your X account. Livemarks is operated by Thing In Itself, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to provide the service, including:

  • When you sign in with X, the sign-in token and basic profile information (such as your X account identifier) that X's standard login provides. We store this to operate your account.
  • The bookmark library you choose to import from X, including tweet content and related metadata needed to make it searchable.
  • Generated search data, such as OCR text, captions, transcripts, embeddings, and index entries.
  • Payment and subscription status from Stripe.
  • Basic logs and diagnostics needed to keep Livemarks reliable and secure.

3. What Stays on Your Device

To read your bookmarks from your X account, the browser extension uses access that stays on your device, inside the extension. That access is never sent to or stored on our servers.

4. How We Use Information

We use your information to operate Livemarks, sync and index bookmarks, provide search, process payments, prevent abuse, debug problems, and respond to support requests.

5. Who Can See Your Bookmarks

Your bookmark library is private to your account. We do not sell it, rent it, share it as a public dataset, or make it searchable by other users.

6. AI Processing

Livemarks uses AI providers to generate captions, transcripts, embeddings, summaries, and search results. Bookmark content and derived media text may be sent to these providers for that purpose. We do not use your data to train our own AI models, and we do not permit providers to use your data to train their general models where that setting is available.

7. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to operate Livemarks, including Vercel, Convex, Stripe, Helicone, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, and Cohere. These providers process information only as needed to provide infrastructure, payments, AI processing, caching, and related service functionality. Stripe processes payments and handles your card details; we do not receive or store full card numbers.

8. What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
  • We do not use your bookmark library for advertising or ad targeting.
  • We do not make your bookmark library available to other Livemarks users.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep account, bookmark, index, and billing records for as long as needed to provide Livemarks and meet operational, legal, or security needs. If you unbookmark something on X, Livemarks may retain the item and mark it as no longer bookmarked. You can request deletion of data associated with your account by contacting us.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS in transit and access controls for service data. No internet service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.

11. Children's Privacy

Livemarks is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
